Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC, born March 4, 1954 is an actress from Canada. O'Hara has been awarded numerous awards which include an award from the Genie Award and a Golden Globe Award. O'Hara also received two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Canadian Screen Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2018, she was made an Officer of Canada and in 2020, she received the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara became famous as an actress as a member in 1974 of The Second City, an improvisational comedy troupe based in Toronto. Together with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the primary casting for the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara began working alongside Candy in Second City Television's sketch comedy show (1976-1984). O'Hara was praised for her stand-up and writing abilities, and was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award of Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the new Second City artistic advisory board headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
