Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the business to NRT for $66 million. In the following months she left the business. Corcoran was among the first Shark Tank investors. She has appeared on every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Since February of 2020, she's signed 53 deals for the show, with the biggest one being $350,000 to purchase 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was second in a family of 10 kids and was raised in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving from one job to another throughout Corcoran's youth. Sometimes, her family depended on food delivery for free from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father as one who occasionally drank too much and was rude to her mother and condescension, particularly when he was drinking. Corcoran struggled through her schooling, later learning that she had dyslexia. Corcoran began high school in St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in a variety of courses during her freshman year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
